Whimsical Boho Forest Wedding at Camp Lane
When Cassy first described her wedding vision to me, she used the words “Harry Potter castle meets hippie forest vibes”… and I knew it was going to be a magical day. Seeing her vision come to life on that gorgeous June day was such a joy, and the love between Cassy and Viva was felt by everyone. The photos by Forthright Photo speak volumes; they captured everything from the emotions of the day to all of the special details Cassy had been collecting for the day — vintage goblets, books, candleholders, and more.
Cassy and Viva live in Southern California, but decided to have a destination wedding in woodsy Oregon as it is a meaningful place to them. And I’m so glad they did! I knew I would get along great with these two, they even got engaged in Disneyland (my favorite place in the world) and Viva put a whole video together of the experience which was so fun to watch.
Camp Lane in Walton, Oregon was the perfect place to make it happen — the whole venue is surrounded by old-growth forest with a nearby river, and plenty of on-site lodging and camping for guests. Enjoy the beautiful photos by Forthright photo (this husband and wife duo were such a dream to work with), and check out the highlight film by Define Motion at the bottom of the post!
There’s no denying it — Cassy’s Rue De Seine gown is one of my favorite dresses, ever. I love how they had the “getting ready” area decorated for photos. They brought in these adorable chairs, rug, candles and greenery, and it completely transformed the space for photos. The florals by Passionflower Design were absolutely stunning — I love how they incorporated the feathers to tie in with the rest of the wedding details. The sweetest little flower girls ever!! Their darling boho dresses and flower crowns just about killed me. We were able to re-purpose all of these potted ferns and lanterns to the reception decor. Anytime you can repurpose from ceremony to reception, definitely do it!
Cassy and Viva did a sage smudging during their ceremony, which was a unique touch and also made for some pretty awesome photo affects. If that isn’t a happy groom… I don’t know what it is! Little cones of lavender were at each guest’s seat, and they tossed the lavender as the newlyweds came down the aisle. It was such a fun touch! The picnic tables at Camp Lane provided the perfect setting for all of the fun details Cassy had collected — vintage books and candle holders, vintage goblets, vases and feathers, in addition to the loose ferns and greenery. I love how it all came together! Cassy also sourced these vintage trunks to create her cake and dessert table. The marbled cake from Sweet Life was a gorgeous finishing touch!
