Chateau de Michellia Styled Shoot

I don’t take part in many styled shoots these days, but when Rachel asked me to come in and design some details for this one, I jumped at the chance to work at Chateau de Michellia in Salem. This venue is straight out of a French fairytale. It took my breath away as I pulled into the driveway and the property came into view. The grand architecture, lush greenery, and romantic ambiance make it a dream setting for a wedding. Every detail is perfectly executed, and you can tell they have put so much love and care into restoring the Chateau to its original glory and beyond.

Even though it was pouring rain during the shoot, I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. I was in the most stunning setting, putting together a charming little tablescape and chatting with Rachel’s mom who is one of the sweetest women ever. It was a blast getting to see Rachel work her magic with our adorable couple, capturing their laughter and chemistry despite the drizzle.

I loved designing the green and white tablescape! I think it’s a great example of how to do green and white without being boring. The key is in the details—layering textures, mixing interesting shapes, and incorporating elegant yet unexpected elements. I brought Kara with Branch & Bramble on board to design the flowers, because I knew she would knock it out of the park (and she did!). The organic shape of the arrangements added a perfect touch of romance and whimsy. Even though I’m usually drawn to color, there’s something so timeless and sophisticated about all-white florals.
