Camp Cleawox Wedding
For their summer-camp inspired wedding, Jessica and Ryan were looking for a non-traditional yet beautiful outdoor setting. The Camp Cleawox Girl Scout Camp in Florence, Oregon ended up ticking all of the boxes for them. This unique space provided camp lodging for their nearly 200 guests, dining facilities, canoeing, an obstacle course, archery… basically all of the fun details that make up a summer camp. Their wedding weekend consisted of tournaments, games, and singing songs by the campfire light. Jessica and Ryan created a true summer camp experience for their guests, many of whom were traveling in from out of the state.
The newlyweds said their vows in front of the lake and sand dunes which was a stunning backdrop for such a special moment. After the ceremony, guests followed the happy couple (and a live fiddler) for a “parade” up to the reception space. If you have a decent-length walk between your ceremony and reception, this is an excellent way to keep guests entertained for the walk! To cap off the night they had a delicious dinner on the lodge lawn under bistro lights followed by a lively dance party inside the lodge. When it was time for dancing, the wedding party kicked things off flash-mob style! I loved seeing the looks on everyone’s faces, it was pure joy and such a fun moment.
Jessica became pregnant during the planning process, which meant her original dress was not gong to fit on the wedding day. So while it still fit, they had their photographer take some stunning portraits of the two of them dressed in their wedding attire. Jessica was able to find a new dress for the wedding day that was both comfortable and absolutely gorgeous. They had one of their portraits from the session blown up to life-size and used for their photo booth!
It was truly a joy-filled day for a wonderful couple, and an honor to be a part of. Cheers to Jessica and Ryan!

No matter what your budget is, there are always going to be some compromise on things you initially want. At one point during the planning process, we had talked about doing ribbon wands or flags when Jessica and Ryan came back down the aisle. We ended up having to cut this detail due to budget. However, in the weeks leading up to the wedding I found some very affordable blank flags and ribbon wands. I ordered them and wrote sayings like “yay!”, “congrats!”, and “just married” with a sharpie. We passed them out to guests before the ceremony started. It was such a fun detail that I’m glad ended up working out!
