Happy New Year! Can you believe it’s 2017? A whole new year, a fresh start… I’m so excited for the opportunities that lay ahead and for the progress Event Crush has made in the past year. We were able to help so many amazing couples celebrate the greatest day of their lives, and I’m so thankful for that.
We are coming up on Meghan and Cory’s one year anniversary this month, so I thought it would be a great time to share their photos by Longstreet Williams Photography, along with some details about their incredible day… that almost didn’t happen due to a crazy wind storm!
Meghan and Cory were married at Deep Woods out in Elmira, which is such a gorgeous property with a fantastic indoor space for winter weddings. The morning of the wedding, when I was just about to head out there, I got a call from the bride’s mom letting me know that the power was out at the venue. When I got there (which required an extra detour due to trees down in the road), they were able to get a small generator running so they could continue with hair and makeup but the power in the building was still out. Bringing in an outside generator wasn’t an option, but thankfully the power came back on in time for the ceremony to begin!
The rest of the evening went wonderfully, and the rain allowed for some fun photo opportunities. Meghan was such a trooper through all of the craziness with the weather and her and Cory both remained so laid back despite the setbacks.
Meghan’s last name is “Flake”, and since they were planning a winter wedding, she wanted to include snowflake elements to tie in her last name and the winter theme. They had custom snowflake chocolate favors made for all of their guests, and included snowflake details throughout the day which could be seen in their gorgeous cake, signage, and bridesmaid necklaces.
Sun Blossoms Floral provided a gorgeous display for the fireplace consisting of white floral arrangements with branches, pillar candles, and a bed of greenery, which created the focal point for the indoor ceremony. Chairs were set up for the parents and grandparents, but the rest of the guests sat at their tables which made for a smooth transition right in to the reception following the ceremony.
For their guest book, Meghan & Cory had this poster made which guests signed. What a great piece of art to frame and hang in their home to remember their day by.
Sweet Life Patisserie provided the gorgeous snowflake cake that Meghan had envisioned.
Happy (almost) one year anniversary, Meghan and Cory!!
Side note: I was super pregnant during their wedding, and the kindness and compassion that their friends and family showed to me was second to none. I felt truly appreciated and even though my feet were killing me by the end of the night, it was all so worth it! It was seriously such a wonderful group of people to work with.
