Have you ever dreamed about being a Disney princess? I mean, I know I can’t be alone on this… there is just something so dreamy and magical about those darn Disney movies. The princess always finds her prince charming and they go off to live “happily ever after.” It’s a sweet, innocent fairy tale romance that is much unlike the kind of romance we see in more modern day films. I am a long-time Disney fan and wanted to put together a shoot that bottled up that sweet, romantic love through styling and details and capture it on film. I’m so glad that Gaby of Gabriela Ines Photography agreed to photograph this for me, her style is SO dreamy and ethereal, I knew she would capture my vision perfectly.
I have worked on many styled shoots over the last few years but only a handful of them have been my vision (other times I am brought on board to help bring the photographer’s vision to life, etc) and I have to say I LOVE being able to have complete creative freedom and to come up with something so fun from conception to completion, and to bring on super talented wedding pros to help make it all happen! So thankful for this team and all of their hard work to make this happen, which led to this gorgeous shoot being featured on Wedding Chicks this past summer!
This shoot was extra special because my sister-in-law and brother-in-law were our models, and they were just about to celebrate their four year wedding anniversary. Also my daughter was our flower girl (naturally)… this wasn’t the first time and certainly won’t be the last time she’ll model in shoots for me, haha!
Whenever I need gorgeous, lush floral arrangements I always go to my girls at Good Seed Floral! And they never disappoint. The bouquet and centerpiece they created for this shoot were unreal… they each had the most gigantic white peony that I have ever seen. The look was so whimsical and perfectly enchanting.
For the tablescape, I wanted to have a soft pallet with plenty of contrast, so I went with a dark wood table, blush pink chiffon runner, and blush pink napkins with plenty of gold elements including the chargers, flatware, napkin rings, and candle holders. To add a touch of whimsy I also went with mismatched white chairs to add an additional contrast. The vintage plates and pink goblets were also mismatched, but everything worked together so well to create a cohesive look nonetheless. All of our rentals came from For the Love of Pete in Salem – Dori has an incredible collection of wedding and event decor at her shop.
Melissa with Off the Vine Calligraphy & Design created and designed all of the paper goods and signage for the shoot and I was blown away by her creativity. How gorgeous are these sparkly gold paper mirror menus? They paired SO well with the napkin rings and added a gorgeous touch to the place settings. She also created signs with Disney princess quotes, a stunning invitation suite, canvas chair signs, and one of my favorite details off all – the gold “happily ever after” cake topper which you will see below.
This next image is one of my very favorites from the whole shoot… the lighting is just SO perfect and that bouquet + silk ribbon looks unreal!!
The Stewart Family Farm in Harrisburg, with it’s lush green lawns, private creek, towering trees, orchards, and manicured gardens provided the perfect backdrop for our fairy tale romance to take place.
See what I mean about that peony!? It just stole the whole show and makes all of the other flowers seem so tiny in comparison, haha.
Shelly with Soft Peaks Cakery crafted our gorgeous cake, and Melissa’s cake topper was the perfect addition to complete our little cake table display. I loved using this vintage tea cart from For the Love of Pete along with the garland from Good Seed! Just perfect. I think our cake setup was one of my very favorite details from the shoot.
I wanted to include small details throughout the shoot that gave a nod to Disney princess movies without being “over the top” or cheesy. The tea pot on the cake table reminded me of Mrs. Pots from Beauty and the Beast – we also had a sign reading “Be Our Guest” and of course the “enchanted mirror” menus.
“My dream wouldn’t be complete without you in it” – from the Princess and the Frog. Addy LOVES this movie. Her adorable blush pink flower girl dress was from Petite Adele – have you seen their dresses!? So many options and they are just so beautiful!
I knew I wanted to add something extra special to our shoot to make it truly enchanting… enter Dippy, the mini horse! Adorned in a floral garland, Dippy was just too cute for words, and paired with our sweet flower girl it was a sight only seen in fairytales.
Be sure to check out the full feature on Wedding Chicks for even more photos and details. Thank you to all of these fabulous wedding pros for helping me bring this to life!!
